#5 – VOCALS
06.05.2012

We’re done! Ok, we finished the instruments section, but that’s a thing already! Flo and Stocki have given the final touches to most of the songs by singing their sweetest tones. Together they have consumed loads of cough drops, a bottle of whiskey and about twenty-two beers to get their voices going.

By the way: Flo likes dancing while singing, but have a look for your self.

#4 – LEAD GUITAR
03.05.2012

That leads us to the lead guitar (haha). Benni added some melodic tunes to our songs safely as usual. Sounds awesome. Now our production turns more and more to a nice album.

#3 – RHYTHM GUITAR
19.04.2012

Drums and bass guitar were completed successfully. Now it’s time to raise up some guitar walls. We had the choice between 5 different guitar amps. After a long casting period, “SCREED searches the new super amp” we decided the best decision would be to mix a Mesa Rectifier with the Engl Invader. Let’s just see how it fit’s in the mix.

Here’s a little video of Florian playing some tunes.

#2 – BASS RECORDING
08.04.2012

After drums we moved immediately one step forward. Fortunately Stocki don’t need 16 microphones and one bass guitar is easier to tune than Marks barrels. Just a few changes on the amplifier and our experienced audio guys Max and Jakob found a nice bright, drifty and aggressiv sound. Just the one we needed.

Some warm-up tunes later the record light turned red. Thanks to Marks great groundwork the first songs were played in no time. If there weren’t some wishes of our guitarplayers to change a few arrangments: “I play something else there. You should try it too.” But that’s what recording songs is all about.

So we all heared bass, bass, bass from friday evening till sunday around noon. Burgeoning lack of motivation were mastered, thanks to whisky and encourangment of the bandmates, bravely. And we could move on to our next point on the agenda, while the whole world feasted on their paschal lamb:

Rhythm Guitar!

One small impression from the recording. (Mark didn’t allow me to use porno fades. So please just imagine them yourself while watching. Stocki)

#1 – DRUM RECORDING
05.04.2012

Last 4 month we spent entirely in our rehearsing room working on new songs. Also it really hurts we had to cancel some shows because we wanted to concentrate all our energy on the album. Now finally the time has come – We entered at The Engine, Vierkirchen on Wednesday, April, 4th with boundless energy.

We began, of course, with the drums. After tuning the !!!16 microphones!!! were put on its place. Just 3 hours later, a little bit of moving the microphones, some fine tuning on the drums and TADAAAAA: We found our perfect drumsound.

Just a few minutes of catching fresh air and we were ready to go. Mark, as usual, nailed the tracks and when we left the studio a couple of hours later we had finished our first 4 songs. Not to shabby for the first day.
On Thursday we started again, of course, with the drums. We had to give the other 10 songs also an incredible drumbeat. Several ear-battering and sweaty 8 hours later, Mark had nailed the next 8 songs.

We decided to do the two loudest and fastest songs on Good Friday. Because if you have the chance to be loud you should take it. You find a short video of Mark drumming attached. Enjoy a little snip and imagine about 20 hours of this stuff. Heavy. But now we are sure our full length is going to be even better than we could have ever imagined.

to be continued…
